Post Ideas is your library of ready-to-use ideas for content. Each idea has a hook, a short brief, and the pillar and angle it belongs to, so you always have something to write about. When you set up your workspace, MarketingBlocks prepares content pillars and post ideas for you, and this is where they live.

How to Get There

From the left-hand menu, click Content to expand it, then click Post Ideas.

What’s on the Page

At the top you’ll find:

• Search post ideas to find an idea.
• Filters to narrow the list.
• Generate ideas to have MarketingBlocks create new ideas.
• New post idea to write one yourself.
• A refresh icon next to those buttons.

When new ideas have been created, a banner says Your new ideas are ready. It reminds you that you can edit them whenever you need to. Click the X to close it.

Below that is your list of ideas. Each row shows:

• Idea: the hook, with a short line under it.
• Pillar & Angle: two tags showing the content pillar and the angle the idea uses (for example, a pillar followed by an angle such as Hot Take, Framework, Reframe, or Listicle).
• Status: where the idea stands, for example Ready.
• Updated: when the idea was last changed.
• Two icons on the right: an arrow and a trash icon to delete the idea.

Tick the box beside an idea to select it. A note above the list says “Select ideas to apply bulk actions.” Use the box at the top of the list to select every idea.

Step 1: Open and Edit an Idea

Click an idea’s title to open it. A window titled Edit post idea opens with these fields:

• Hook line 1: the opening line.
• Hook line 2: a supporting line.
• Post brief: the main points the post should cover.
• Content pillar: the pillar the idea belongs to.
• Topic: the topic within that pillar.
• Angle: the approach the post takes.
• Suggested format: the format MarketingBlocks recommends for the idea.
• Status: where the idea stands.

Change anything you like. Then choose one of these buttons:

• Save post idea: keep your changes.
• Save & create post: keep your changes and start creating a post from this idea.
• Cancel: close without saving.
• Delete: remove the idea.

Step 2: Generate New Ideas

Click Generate ideas. A window titled Generate post ideas opens.

1. Number of ideas: use the – and + buttons to choose how many to create.
2. Pillars: choose one pillar, or leave it on All pillars.
3. Topics: choose a topic, or leave it on All topics. To change your pillars and topics, click Manage pillar set.
4. Angle: choose the angles to use, or leave it on All angles selected.
5. Additional instructions: switch this on if you want to tell MarketingBlocks anything extra about the ideas you want.
6. Click Generate ideas, or Cancel to close the window.

Step 3: Add Your Own Idea

If you already know what you want to post about, click New post idea and add it yourself. It then joins your list with the others.

Step 4: Turn an Idea Into a Post

When you’re ready to create the content, open an idea and click Save & create post. You can also start from the Posts page. In the content brief, click Use a saved idea to pick from your list.

Keep Your List Fresh

Delete ideas you won’t use, edit the ones you like, and generate more whenever you run low.
